2017 VERMONT JUNIOR VARSITY STATE WRESTLING TOURNAMENT

Saturday February 18, 2017 – Hosted by Spaulding High School

Weigh-ins at 9:00 AM SHARP – You must be present when weigh-ins begin

 First round is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM and will be continuous until 1st thru 6th places are determined (breaks will be taken only if needed).  A minimum of four (4) mats will be used for all rounds (JH state tournament will run concurrently with the JV tournament).

ENTRY FEE IS $10.00 PER WRESTLER WITH A MAXIMUM OF $140 PER TEAM

Please have checks with you on the day of the event and make them payable to the Vermont Wrestling Coaches Association.  Early payments and cash will also be accepted.

ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY NOON ON WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2017

Please include records, Do Not Count Forfeits, for seeding purposes.  JV and varsity records separately would be appreciated.  Your cooperation is crucial to getting entries and seeding accurate.

Eligibility -1) Back up to another member of the team at their natural weight class, or

2) Has won 40% or less of ACTUAL varsity matches wrestled, i.e. not including forfeits

3) Seniors should only be entered if they meet BOTH criteria 1 and 2

WEIGHT CLASSES – 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, 285

There is an ADDITIONAL2-pound growth allowance to these weights.  106 is 108 etc.

A competitor CAN ONLY MOVE UP if they DO NOT MAKE THE WEIGHT they are entered at

THERE IS NO MOVING DOWN IN WEIGHT CLASS; PLEASE CHECK YOUR ENTRIES

These are SCRATCH weights – THERE IS NO GROWTH ALLOWANCE!

Competitors MUST weigh in with their singlet on!  New England qualifier tournament rule

This includes uniform, shoes, head gear, grooming, skin, athlete’s conduct, coach’s conduct, etc.
